Children support Drive Against Malaria

Amsterdam - 230 children of the Dutch Christian Elementary School, Immanuel, Rijsenhout were full of fascination during the film about the humanitarian work of Drive Against Malaria Foundation in Africa. The children sat on the edge of their seats to listen during the presentation of David Robertson and Julia Samuel.
In the coming months the children will raise funds for the poorest families in the Central African Republic (CAR) to buy long lasting nets and provide medication for malaria sicken children.

Land Rover support DAM


Land Rover Dealership with Land Rover Netherlands donated a further € 50,000.00 to the Mount Cameroon Project & the Dzanga Sangha Project in CAR. The cheque was presented by CEO Land Rover Netherlands, Marc Bienemann with dealers Jelle Romijn & Peet Van Herpen.

Inner Wheel Harderwijk


Inner Wheel Club Harderwijk donate €3,200.00 to DAM's anti-malaria project to the Baka Pygmie of Cameroon. Since 2007 Drive Against Malaria continues to fight malaria by providing mosquito nets with medication to some of the most remote tribes of eastern Cameroon.

World Malaria Day 2011


$25,000.00 Was donated to Drive Against Malaria during the run-up to World Malaria Day 2011. The cheque was presented by ExxonMobil Public & Government Affairs Manager Benelux Remko Kruithof. Thanks to the 110 runners from Belgium & Holland in the "Antwerp 10 miles", DAM's campaigns will be extended with more children being tested, treated and protected against malaria in Cameroon and Central African Republic during the next mission July 2011 - February 2012.

RRI Support malaria fight SW Cameroon


Limbe based "Rig Repair International" financed malaria screening along the coastline of SW Cameroon in Njonji Village, Debundscha, Isobi and Idenau. Testing was followed up with the 3 day course, combination therapy "Coartem" to cure malaria. Long lasting mosquito nets were given along with education on the best ways to prevent malaria by sleeping under an impregnated net. The people were tested over a two day period by the DAM team working with JCI in each location. This insured everyone had the opportunity of the free test & treatment along with up to 2 mosquito nets per household. These nets can prevent malaria for up to 4 years.

Sanga River Central African Republic


Drive Against Malaria are working with the Ba’aka communities (Pygmy’s) close to the town of Bayanga on the Sanga River Central African Republic to combat malaria.
Severn sites have been set up around Baynga to diagnose and treat malaria as well as train local doctors, medics and teams of volunteers to use RDT’s and ACT’s. 710 women & children under 10 have so far been tested for malaria.
